Bhoomipuja for construction of temple held in 2003. The temple was opened for the public after Pranapratishta on 7th April 2007. For day to day activities and running of the temple in smooth manner, an independent trust was formed in the name of “ Sri Balaji Temple Development Trust” in 2012.All the pujas of this temple are performed, in the similar way of Tirumala by recruiting poojaris from Veda Patashala of TTD .
The temple designs were drawn as per Vikhanasa Aagama Sastra with the help of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) Tirupati. The carving of stone work was carried at Tirupati and carved stones were transported by road to Ahmedabad. Around 100 shilpis had carved the stones for two years period at Tirupati, and around 80 shilipis were engaged from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to construct such a big monument at Ahmedabad. Sculptures and temple architecture was constructed by reputed contractors who had constructed many temples around the world. Installation of idols of Lord Sri Balaji, Padmavati, Godadevi, Garuda, Jaya, Vijaya and Dhwaja Stambham was made along with temple and Gali Gopuram at that time of Pranapratishta itself.
A Kalyana Mandapam comprising two Mandapams (Halls), few rooms, kitchen for making prasadam is added in the temple complex in 2010 to give facility to devotees who wish to perform functions like marriage etc and can have accommodation in the temple complex.An E-seva counter was inaugerated in the year 2008 for providing the services to the devotes who are planning to visit Tirupati/Tirumala. The devotees can book Darshan tickets and accommodation at Tirumala hills at this counter. Booking can be made 60 days in advance so that the devotees can have hassle free darshan at Tirumala. Free Annadanam is arranged on every Saturday in Vakuladevi canteen for devotees.Apart from daily pujas like Suprabhatam , Special Sevas like Viswarupam, TomalaSeva, Archana, Sahasranama Archana, Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana, Nijapada Darshanam, Abhishekham, Kumkumarchana, UnjalaSeva, Vahana Seva, Satyanarayan katha, Kalyanotsavam etc are performed on specific days and at particular timings.
Temple also celebrates annual events of Brahmotsavam, Pushpa Yagam and Pavitrotsavam apart from other traditional festivals.Gaana seva during Unjala Seva and Vishnu Sahasranamarchana is performed on every Saturday. Mundan ceremony to remove hair is also done on every Saturday and Sundays.Temple priests, Nadaswarabrundam and cooks for making prasadam are trained in traditions of Tirupati.
